a Nova Scotia-based illustrator/designer who graduated with a BA in Studio Art from Hunter College in 2011.
My work is inspired by the cartoons from my childhood, Japanese mascots, and the everyday cuteness I encountered while living in South Korea and traveling around East and Southeast Asia. I believe that cute art and design shouldnβt be only for kids but enjoyed by all. I mostly work digitally, using my iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Procreate and occasionally Photoshop.
I've collaborated with clients: Stickii Club, BandLab, and Mushroomy House and would love to collab with more!

Outside of illustration, I love crafting and DIY. I enjoy crocheting a good granny square blanket and dabbling in sewing projects for family and friends. I like to repurpose and recycle things when I can. I like eating healthy when I can. I believe in the importance of wonder and that life shouldn't be taken too seriously. :)
Why Mooncheez?
Mooncheez is the name of my silly little art world and the main character that inhabits it.
From as far back as I can remember, I've loved mascots.
There's something about a goofy mascot that makes me smile ear to ear every time I'm in one's presence.
While living in Asia, I learned that businesses, organizations, celebrities, you name it, had a mascot to represent them. So I thought why couldn't an artist have one to document her creative journey too?
Mooncheez isn't me, exactly, but she's part of me. The inner child that loves puffy stickers and the toy aisle. The one who collects stationery that she may or may not use. She's who I wanted to be when I grew up and who I became.
Versions of Mooncheez's face can be seen throughout my illustrative work and in my sticker and print designs. She's changed her appearance from her beginnings in 2018 but her attitude remains the same. :)
